Las Vegas Desert Photo Shoot
We recently had the pleasure of heading down to Las Vegas for WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International convention) with our partner in crime - Alicia Mink. During our visit we had the pleasure of cohosting a desert shootout with some really talented vendors and photographers!
What is a shootout? A shootout is a wonderful opportunity for experienced photographers to come and take images for portfolio building. It is more hands off and allows photographers to get the images they need. Think of it like a photoshoot but with more than 10 photographers, they are broken into groups, put at stations, a "lead" is given their chance to shine and then rotate! Pretty fun!
We just got some of the film scans in from Alicia's own inventory and have been so excited to share the pieces we were able to pick to create each station!
This station was inspired by the setting sun over the mountain tops and the rays that fall over the warm tones of the desert in Vegas. I wanted to use warm colors (dress included, that's why it is champagne) and delicate details to embrace the light rays.
For this space I wanted to make sure that our model, details, and bouquet all represented something a little more glamorous and lush like if you stumbled upon an oasis in the middle of the desert. Her floral was vibrant with purple for pantones, gown was very proper with touches of regal high neck and delicate lace, and the details sparkled! Everything was perfect!
So maybe this title is a little more self explanatory...so you know how the desert can go on for what feels like eternity? Well so should your love for one another! Since this look was to be eternal with a model/real couple I wanted to bring in classic touches, a little glam mixed with fine art, make them stand out again the mountainous backdrop!
